Hamptons neighbors could leave Billy Joel in helicopter hell

One of Billy Joel’s super-rich Long Island neighbors uses his chopper so much that the town’s mayor may restrict all helipad use — including the Piano Man’s.

Hedge fund founder Clive Holmes, who owns a palatial estate complete with private cottages and a pond on Centre Island, uses his helipad incessantly, commuting twice a day and frequently taking friends on joy rides, says Mayor Larry Schmidlapp.

“He has speakers and lights and the helicopter makes a heck of a lot of noise. The people on this island deserve some peace and quiet.”
