SUNY Upstate celebrates Match Day for medical students

The class match rate this year was 100 percent (CNYCentral).

Over 150 fourth-year students at Upstate Medical University’s College of Medicine were among many graduating medical students across the country that learned where they will be training in their first year.

Match Day was established in 1952 by the National Resident Matching Program of the Association of American Medical Colleges as an orderly and fair choice of applicants. According to the university, it provides a “common time for the announcement of the appointments, as well as an agreement for programs and applicants to honor the commitment to of the appointment.”
