HAMMOND — Protests have taken place at Hammond Central School in recent days following a popular student’s suspension for allegedly bringing a disabled BB gun to class that was intended for use as a prop in an upcoming play.

Samuel Webster, a senior at the school, was suspended for five days and faces the possibility of further disciplinary action that could include expulsion, according to his father, Michael J. Baillargeon.
