WATERTOWN — On the day that her friend Nichole V. Walters and a state trooper were killed in July 2017, a woman had to duck for cover when bullets started flying through a shed where she was living, the woman testified Tuesday.

Rebecca Finkle was inside the wood shed when her friend’s 3-year-old son, Axel, showed up at the door alone and wearing just a towel before letting him inside, she testified during the Justin Walters murder trial in Jefferson County Court.

The next thing she knew she heard the sounds of bullets and she had to take cover when the shed was getting shot up, she said.
