Watertown Daily Times | WWNY and WNYF blacked out from DirecTV customers

WATERTOWN — Unresolved contractual disputes have prevented local DirecTV customers from viewing programs from WWNY-TV 7 News and WNYF-TV Fox 28.

Cathy M. Pircsuk, general manager for both local television stations, said the stations’ parent company, United Communications Corp., Kenosha, Wis., and DirecTV, owned by AT&T, have butted heads over the service provider’s fee, usage of the stations’ signal and other “legal positions.” They failed to reach an agreement before the beginning of the year, leading to a blackout of the local stations that began Monday night.
